In the age of globalization Commerce plays a key role in the process of urban and land transformations. From one side we notice a sad sub-urbanization of central and peripheral areas together with the diffusion of Mall; from the other side we register the increasing success of New Civic Architecture proposing a balanced development of retail and high quality urban spaces.
The Conference, structured on 5 main Sessions and Panels, presents the most innovative experiences of the New Civic Architecture at the different urban scales:New York, Paris, London, Bruxelles, San Francisco, Lisbon, San Sebastian, Alessandria, Itri, Viterbo, Piove di Sacco.
