envisions the redevelopment of a former shopping mall into a mixed-use town center,
creating a focal point and gathering place for the Holladay community, as well
as new housing opportunities for residents of the Great Salt Lake Valley. The
55-acre site will be transformed into a new walkable neighborhood that prioritizes
civic spaces and the public realm. The site is located at a strategic transportation

![]() | ||||||||||
Oslo,
Norway, 14-16 September 2008
| The climate change agenda has clearly reached a world-wide tipping point. Yet while there is growing consensus that the phenomenon poses a major threat to future human well-being, legitimate debate remains about what is to be done to reduce atmospheric carbon levels, as well as to adapt to changes that already appear likely. In particular there is ongoing debate about how the cost of various options correlates to potential benefits. Debate also continues about how the issue of climate change relates to the larger agenda of sustainable development. | ||||||||||

EUROPEAN
COMPETITION FOR ARCHITECTURE with a High Environmental Value
![]() | The
competition is being launched at the initiative of VIZZION Europe s.a., a company
that develops and funds architecture projects, with its registered offices in
Brussels. VIZZION Europe was born of a dream of architects to realise mixed and sustainable urban projects, essentially in Europe. The competitions aim is to make future architects aware of the development of an architecture and town planning that respects the environment and local specificities while encouraging the study of urban projects with a high environmental value with mixed function neighbourhoods and limited car use. The competition is for the design, in an urban environment and preferably in a mixed activity zone, of a building or group of buildings offering facilities for housing, shops, craft activities and offices.
| This
competition is opened to architecture students in the penultimate and final years
of study in schools and faculties in the uropean countries included in the regulations.
VIZZION Europe has entrusted the competitions organisation to the Archives dArchitecture Moderne that has recognised experience in the field of architecture and traditional town planning acquired through its many exhibitions, publications and conferences as well as organising the triennial European Prize for the Reconstruction of the City.
